CHARLESTON, Ill. - The Eastern Illinois men's tennis team fell to Eastern Kentucky 7-0 in their home opener Friday afternoon.
With the loss the Panthers drop to 2-16 on the season and 0-3 in conference play while EKU improves to 12-5 and 1-0 in OVC play.
The Colonels recorded all nine wins Friday sweeping both doubles play and singles play.
Trent Reiman and
Ferdinand Ammer pushed their doubles counterparts into a tiebreaker set ultimately falling 7-6 (5) from the No. 2 position.
In singles play, EKU won each match in straight sets, but
Jared Woodson put up a strong fight against Jan Kuehling from the No. 4 spot before falling 7-5, 7-5.
the panthers close out the weekend in Indianapolis Sunday taking on Marian (Ind.) at 12 p.m.
