GAME 17
EIU tips-off Saturday vs. Belmont for game two of their four game home stand. The Panthers defeated Tennessee State 66-59 in overtime Thursday night. This was EIU's second win of the season and first win in conference play. Belmont picked up their fifth conference win at SIUE Wednesday night and remain undefeated in OVC play.
 
SCOUTING BELMONT
Belmont is 15-3 overall, 5-0 OVC for the season. Their three losses this season come against Oklahoma, Stanford, and Wright State. The Bruins picked up an impressive 11-74 win over Vanderbilt. Belmont has defeated Southeast Missouri, UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, Jacksonville State, and SIUE so far in the conference. UT Martin took the Bruins down to the wire, ultimately losing 65-63 to Belmont. The Bruins have three players averaging double-figures. Kylee Smith leads the team with 19.6 ppg and grabs 7.5 rpg while Darby Maggard adds 17 ppg and 5.1 apg. Sally McCabe tallies 15.2 ppg and 7.6 rpg. Jenny Roy leads the team with 8.2 rpg.
 
BERRY SEES DOUBLE
Danielle Berry recorded her first career double-double in the Panthers match-up vs. Tennessee State. She was one of four EIU players to scored double-figures with 12 points. Berry crashed the glass grabbing 10 rebounds, five of which were offensive. Berry also tallied four steals and dished out two assists in her career performance.
 
RANKED FROM THE ARC
The Panthers are shooting 37.8 percent from the arc in OVC play. They rank first in the league for three-point percentage connecting on 37.8 percent from beyond the arc. In the OVC, EIU ranks third in three-point field goals made per game with 7.4. They also rank third overall with 7.6 three-pointers made per game through the first 16 games. The Panthers hold their OVC opponents to 26 percent from the arc, which also takes the first spot in conference ranks.
