DANVILLE, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis picked up its first win of the 2018 season as the Panthers swept Western Illinois, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Danville Tennis Center.
 
EIU won the doubles point with Grace Summers and Stella Cliffe winning at No. 1 doubles by a score of 6-2.  Claire Martin and Srishti Slaria clinched the doubles point for the Panthers with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
 
The Panthers were able to win all six singles matches in straight sets.  Emily Pugachevsky won at No. 4 singles by a count of 6-2, 6-1 over Cary Milanes. 
 
Cliffe won at No. 2 singles over Courtney Lubbers by a score of 6-2, 6-2 while Slaria also posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles defeating Maria Bessmertnaya.
 
The Panthers will be back in action on Sunday evening playing at Saint Louis.
