ISU Redbird Duals Results
NORMAL, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis had another successful tournament to open the fall season as the Panthers posted a combined 12-5 record in singles play winning dual matches against SIUE, IUPUI and Illinois State.
The Panthers would add 2-1 victories in doubles action over each of those schools as well for a weekend record of 20-8.
Playing at number one singles
Rachel Papavasilopoulos won all three of her matches in straight sets as the sophomore is now 6-0 in singles play this fall in Flight 1.
Emily Pugachevsky also went 3-0 for the second straight tournament as she won at No. 4 singles. After a three-set victory in the opening dual match against SIUE, Pugachevsky had back-to-back straight set wins to push her fall singles record to 6-0.
Paired together at No. 1 doubles Papavasilopoulos and
Srishti Slaria went 3-0 on the weekend. The No. 3 doubles tandem of
Karla Contreras and
Abby Carpenter also went 3-0 in doubles play this weekend.
