EAST LANSING, Mich. –  The Eastern Illinois women's tennis team wrapped up action at the 2019 ITA Midwest Regional hosted by Michigan State University.
Rachel Papavasilopoulos played in the main draw for the event winning her opening round match over Anna Ulanov of Akron 6-0, 6-2. She would lose in the second round to seeded player Ally Bojczuk from Notre Dame in three sets. Bojczuk won 6-3, 6-7, 6-4.
Papavasilopoulos would be paired with
Christine Gouws in the doubles main draw. They would lose to a team from Illinois 8-7 (4).Â
Karla Contreras and
Brittany Steven played as the Panthers other team in the main doubles draw. They would lose their opening match 8-1 to a team from Notre Dame.
Gouws, Contreras and Steven all played in the qualifying draw. Gouws lost her opening match to Patty Panta of Toledo 7-6, 7-6. Contreras lost her opening round match to Maddie Yergler of DePaul 6-2, 7-6. Steven lost her opening round match to Lucie Prochazkova of UIC 6-1, 6-3.
