Murray State Tennis Results
MURRAY, Ky. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis wrapped up its fall season over the weekend as the Panthers participated in the Murray State Fall Invite. The event featured teams from EIU, Belmont, Western Kentucky and host Murray State.
The Panthers had a pair of runner-up flight finishes with a number of individual match victories over the course of the two-day invite.
In Flight 1 doubles action
Christine Gouws and
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova had a runner-up finish. The would lose to the top seeded Western Kentucky doubles team in the opening match 6-0 before posing a 6-3 win over a doubles team from Belmont.
Bukraba-Ulanova would add a singles win in the third place match of the Flight 2 singles beating Tristen Bryant-Otake of Western Kentucky in three sets 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.
Karla Contreras would collect a runner-up finish in the Flight 3 singles. She would beat Erin Allen of Belmont in the opener in three sets winning 6-4, 2-6, 13-11. Contreras would lose the championship match to Laura Bernardos of WKU.
In doubles play Contreras and
Brittany Steven won one match in flight two doubles.
Kaitlyn Snyder and
Lauren Ellis would win one match in flight three doubles.
