GAME 23
Eastern Illinois women's basketball continues their three game road swing with a trip to Austin Peay on Saturday Feb. 9 for a 1:30 pm tip-off. EIU is coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to Murray State. The Racers made 10 trips to the free throw line in the overtime period to win 60-51 over the Panthers. Austin Peay picked up a double-digit win over SIUE Thursday night and moved up into fifth in conference standings.
SCORING CONTRIBUTIONS
Karle Pace,
Taylor Steele, and
Grace Lennox have been the big time scorers for the Panthers this season. All three rank in the top-30 overall in the OVC for points per game. Pace put up 11 points in EIU's loss at Murray State. She has scored in double-figures 17 times this season bringing her career total to 28 games and she is currently on a four game streak. Steele has scored double-figures 15 times this season bringing her career total to 30 total efforts. She recorded a season-high 21 points earlier this year. Lennox scored a team-best 14 points at Murray. She has 44 career double-figure scoring efforts and nine this season.
SUCCESS FROM THE FOUL LINE
At Murray State, free throws were about the only shots falling for EIU as the Panthers have struggled to find their rhythm from the line this season. They shot 76.9 percent from the foul line completing 10-of-13 attempts. Pace (4-of-4) and Lennox (2-of-2)Â were both perfect from the foul line.
