BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Eastern Illinois tennis had four players reach finals matches with two claiming championships as the women's and men's programs competed at the Olivet Nazarene Fall Invite over the weekend. In addition the Panther men had four players compete at the Chattanooga Clay Court Collegiate Championships.

On the women's side the Panthers had two players win singles championships during the weekend.Â
Kaitlyn Snyder won the women's flight A draw as she beat teammate
Claire Perez-Korinko in the championship match 6-1, 6-4. Snyder opened the tournament with a win over Maddie Holdren of Olivet Nazarene 6-2, 6-0. She would win her next two matches by counts of 6-1, 6-4 and 6-1, 6-0 to reach the finals. Perez-Korinko beat Ann Coddington of ONU in the opening round 7-5, 6-1. She won her next two matches by a 6-2, 6-0 count and by default to reach the tournament finals.

In the women's flight B draw
Lauren Ellis won the title with a 7-5, 6-1 decision over Narjis Mzibri of ONU. Ellis won her opening round match 6-3, 6-2 over Hana Iverson of Illinois Tech. She won her second match in a 10-4 tiebreaker (3-6, 6-3, 10-4). She reached the finals beating Nikhita Simhambhatla of Western Illinois winning 6-2, 6-2.

In men's action at the Olivet Nazarene Tournament,
Cameron Slabbert advanced to the finals in the men's singles draw. He won his opening match 6-1, 6-4 over Nadrian Fiesta of ONU. He would beat teammate
Thomas Wallace 3-6-6-4, 10-8 in the third round to before knocking off Andres Martinez of ONU in the semifinals. Slabbert would lose the championship match 6-4, 6-3 to Francisco Faria of ONU.   Wallace won his opening match over Andy Fang of Illinois Tech 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 before beating Andrew Torres of Illinois Tech to set up the match with Slabbert.

Four Panthers men's players competed in the Chattanooga Clay Courts event with
Daniel Hernandez winning his first round match 6-3, 6-1 over Nikolai Manchev of UAB. He would fall in the second round before winning one consolation match over Christopher Tasker of Troy.Â
Pau Riera and
Christos Kyrillou both won a match in the consolation bracket. Hernandez and Kyrillou would win their opening match in doubles play by a 8-6 count over a team from Chattanooga.Â
