HOSTING NO. 1
The Panthers (3-6, 1-3 OVC) host the top team in the OVC, Austin Peay (6-2, 4-0 OVC), on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. Eastern Illinois could use a significant victory against the Governors to get the season back on track. EIU is coming off of a 76-68 loss to Murray State on Thursday earlier this week. Austin Peay comes off of a 73-54 win against SIUE on Thursday.

PLAYER TO WATCH
Lariah Washington has been a consistent threat for the Panthers on both ends of the court all season. She has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season and has corralled double-digit rebounds twice this season as well. The sophomore guard is leading the Panthers in rebounds-per-game in conference play with 6.8 a game. The Panthers need Washington to draw defenses towards her to allow her teammates to get open and get shots off from the field.

SCOUTING THE GOVERNORS
Austin Peay is a team with a lot of depth. The Governors have only two of their players averaging double-digit scoring, but it seems to be working as they are the No. 1 team in the OVC at the moment. Briannah Ferby is the team's leader in total points on the season with 97 and has dished 19 assists to her seven turnovers. Junior guard, Maggie Knowles, is leading the Governors with 18 points-per-game in conference play. The Panthers must play with intensity throughout the entire game to record a win; and right the ship to get the conference season back on track.

UP NEXT
Eastern Illinois will be back on the road on Monday, Jan. 11, at SIUE at 1 p.m.
