Track Breaks School Record, Sets Other Marks At ISU

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Eastern Illinois track and field set one school record and posted another four EIU career top ten marks on Friday as EIU competed in its final regular season meet prior to hosting the Ohio Valley Conference Championships next weekend.
 
EIU set the school record in the women's 4x100 relay with a time of 45.52 which placed second in the event.  The relay team included Vivica Coleman, Danielle Frank, Zakiya Johnson and Akiya Kollore.
 
Coleman would also place second in the women's 100 meter dash with her time of 11.92 ranking ninth all-time at EIU.  Rylei Jackson was fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.92.
 
Joe Smith won the men's triple jump as he became just the eighth Panther to ever pass the 50' mark in the event.  Smith won with a jump of 50'6.25" which ranks as the seventh best mark in school history.
 
Taylor Wright was third in the women's triple jump with her mark of 38'9.50" ranking ninth all-time at EIU.
 
The EIU men's 4x100 relay team posted the final EIU career top ten time as they were third in a fast race clocking a time of 40.35 which ranks seventh at EIU.  Brailyn Johnson, Payton Powell, Tadiwa Mhonde and Ricky Johnson made up the relay unit.
 
Powell later placed fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.63.
 
Riley Baker and Danielle Frank added individual wins for EIU at the Indiana State Pacesetter Meet.  Baker won the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 52.32.  Frank won the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 24.37.  Zakiya Johnson was fifth in the event with a time of 24.90.
 
Akiya Kollore and Mckenna Wojcicki rounded out the EIU women's athletes with top five finishes on the day.  Kollore was third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.29 while Wojcicki was fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:06.89.
 
Matt Ogilvie, Colin Marchio and Jekeel Suber rounded out the EIU men's athletes with top five finishes on the day.  Ogilvie was fourth in the pole vault clearing 14'5.25".  Marchio was fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.79.  Suber was fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.54
