Eastern Illinois women's tennis will send two players to compete in this weekend's ITA Midwest Regional Championship hosted by the University of Illinois.

Rachel Papavasilopoulos and
Christine Gouws will represent the Panthers playing in both singles and doubles action beginning on Friday at the Aitkens Tennis Center.

The event will be a blind draw for both singles and doubles play with the top finishers in the event advancing to the ITA Midwest Super Regional on Oct. 22-26 at Ohio State University.

Papavasilopoulos earned first team All-OVC honors last spring posting an 11-2 record at No. 1 singles.  She played three doubles matches with Gouws in the spring with the pair going 3-0, all at No. 1 doubles.

Last spring Gouws played in all three top spots in the Panthers line-up with the three individual wins. She played most of her time at No. 2 singles.
