ITA Midwest Regional Results 

Eastern Illinois women's tennis had two players compete over the weekend at the ITA Midwest Regional hosted by Illinois.    Rachel Papavasilopoulos and Christine Gouws participated as a doubles team and individually.
 
In doubles action they won their opening match 8-2 over Mara Poppe and Florencia Fuentes of Bowling Green.   They were defeated 8-0 in their second doubles contest by Julia Andreach and Carrie Beckman from Notre Dame, who were seeded third in the draw.
 
Individually, Papavasilopoulos was seeded No. 9 in the open draw and received an opening round bye.  Playing through an injury she lost her second round match to Olivia Czerwonka of Valparaiso in three sets – 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-5.
 
Gouws played in one match in individual play losing to Vasavi Ganesan of Eastern Michigan, 6-4, 6-4.
