Results (Sycamore Open)
Eastern Illinois Track & Field recorded three first place finishes this past weekend as the Panthers participated in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Sycamore Open in Terre Haute, Ind.Â
In Des Moines,
Lindsey Carlson continued her historic season, finishing in eighth place in the women's 5,000 meter run with a time of 16:27.08, lowering her own EIU school record in the process. In the men's 5,000 meter run,
Jaime Marcos finished in third place and set a new personal best with a time of 14:09.05. The time moves him up to fourth place in EIU school history. The quartet of
Shanisa Stinson,
Mckenna Wojcicki,
Hallee Thomas, and
Akiya Kollore finished in first place in the women's 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle with a time of 58.03. In the men's 4x100 meter relays, EIU's team of
Brailyn Johnson,
Sean Hopkins,
Jahleel Perrin, and
Ricky Johnson set a new season high with a time of 40.86. Â
Ramsey Hunt finished in second place in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.66m (25'1.75")
In the Track events in Terre Haute,
Katie Springer came in second place in the women's 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.63.Â
Breanna Sheldon came in fifth place and finished with a personal best of 2:25.05. The Panthers took the top two spots in the women's steeplechase, as
Avani Flanagan finished with a time of 11:28.39, while
Kylie Decker finished right behind her with a time of 11:55.89. In the men's 100 meter dash,
Colin Marchio finished in third place and tied his personal best with a time of 10.76. In the men's 400 meter dash,
Damian Clay finished in second place with a time of 49.94. Â
In the men's 800 meter run,
Isai Morales finished in second place with a time of 1:55.90. The Panthers had three top-five finishers in the men's 1500 meter dash, as
Richie Jacobo finished in third place with a time of 4:02.34,
Robby Prescott finished fourth with a time of 4:03.86, and
Trevor Murphy finished fifth with a time of 4:04.42. In the men's 110 meter hurdles,
Stenoree Allen finished in third place and set a new personal best with a time of 14.65. In the men's 400 meter hurdles,
Greg Downs finished in second place with a time of 55.89. Â
In the Field events in Terre Haute,
Madison Myrick finished in first place in the women's high jump with a length of 1.60m (5'3"). The Panthers took the top two spots in the men's high jump as
Porter Conroy set a new personal best and finished in first place with a length of 1.98m (6'6"), while
Steven Rowe recorded a length of 1.95m (6'4.75"). In the men's long jump, Downs finished in second place and set a new personal best with a length of 7.07m (23'2.5").Â
Up next, the Panthers will head to Bloomington, Ind. for the Billy Hayes Outdoor Invitational hosted by Indiana University. The meet will be held Friday, May 6.
