Eastern Illinois women's tennis opened the fall portion of their 2022-23 season over the weekend competing at the SIUE Cougar Fall Invite. The tournament included players from EIU, SIUE and Bradley.
Addison Brown had a strong weekend in both singles and doubles play for EIU. Brown picked up two wins in singles playing in the Big E bracket. She would beat Madi Rogers for Bradley 6-4,-6-1 and Alexandra Hildreth of Bradley, 6-1, 7-6 (7).
In doubles play, Brown teamed with
Christine Gouws to post a 2-1 record. The would beat an SIUE doubles team 6-3 and a Bradley doubles team 6-3 playing the A Bracket.
EIU would also pick up singles wins in the weekend event by Gouws,
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova,
Lauren Ellis and
Madeline Monroy.
