CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Eastern Illinois women's swim team picked up a win over Lewis on Friday evening at Padovan Pool, as the Panthers celebrated Senior Night at their first and only home meet of the season. Seniors recognized included
Izzy Glasgow,
Autumn Grinter,
Emma Keith,
Kaylan Ottosen,
Corinne Staneart,
Olivia Viele,
Conner Colston,
Dismas Dillon,
Jacob Wienants, and
Spencer Wilson.
Eastern started the night out strong with seniors
Izzy Glasgow,
Corinne Staneart,
Kaylan Ottosen, and
Autumn Grinter combining forces to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.92.
The same four Panthers would put a bookend on the victory with another first-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:40.75).
Corrine Staneart and
Autumn Grinter also added two more golds to each of their evenings, with Staneart winning the 50 breast (31.96) and 400 IM (4:40.21), while Grinter took the 50 free (24.33) and 50 fly (27.09).
Three other EIU women earned first-place finishes, including
Anna Mueller in the 200 free (2:03.35),
Izzy Glasgow in the 50 back (27.94),
Genevieve Biberdorf in the 100 breast (1:11.72).
The Panthers prevailed by a score of 142-119.
On the men's side,
Conner Colston secured EIU's first gold of the night with a time of 1:43.12 in the 200 free.
Meanwhile, fellow senior
Dismas Dillon earned a pair of first-place finishes in the 50 free (20.94) and 100 free (46.56).
In the final event of the evening, Colston and Dillon teamed up with
Nolan Wallace and
Zach Clark to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:19.05.
However, the men ultimately fell by a score of 110-152.
The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday with a dual meet at Southern Illinois. Competition is set to get underway at noon inside Dr. Edward Shea Natatorium.Â
