The Panthers swimming wrapped up their three-day competition at the SIU A3 Performance invite. EIU competed against Southern Illinois, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Bellarmine University, and the University of Evansville. Both men's and women's swimming earned multiple impressive placements and finishing times.
Day 1
Men's: Day one on the men's side was highlighted by a 5th place finish in the Men's 400 Yard Medley Relay A-Final with a finishing time of 3:25.20. The relay team included Alexander Sadowski, Nolan Wallace, Sebastian Rosales, and Simonas Rimskis. In addition, the Panthers placed 4th in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:23.52. The 4th place relay team included Sadowski, Luke Helm, Wallace, and Carson Hughes. Eddie Myers placed 2nd in the B-Final for the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:38.78.
Women's: Similar to the men, the Women's 400 Yard Medley Relay led the way with a 4th place finish in the A-Final with a time of 4:00.25. The relay team included Jenna Patridge, Genevieve Biberdorf, Sophia Buswell, and Maja Przybylska. EIU's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay placed 5th in the A-Final with a time of 1:38.82. Their relay team consisted of Przybylska, Buswell, Anna Mueller, and Patridge. Mueller won the B-Final in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a finishing time of 5:12.27.
Day 2
Men's: Alexander Sadowski placed 5th in the Men 100 Yard Backstroke A-Final with a finishing time of 49.74 seconds. Nolan Wallace placed 2nd in the Men 100 Yard Breaststroke B-Final with a time of 57.84 seconds. Simonas Rimskis, Bido Awad, and Joshua Campion each collected points as well in the Men 100 Yard Breaststroke. Awad had a time of 59.50, Campion finished in 59.58 seconds, and Rimskis finished with a time of 58.49.
Women's: Like Day 1, EIU women's relay teams impressed with a 5th place finish in the Women 200 Yard Medley Relay A-Final with a time of 1:49.86. The relay team consisted of Patridge, Biberdorf, Buswell, and Przybylska. Sydney Vandervelde posted a first-place finish in the Women 400 Yard IM B-Final with a time of 4:37.81. Annemarie Johnson and Sophia Buswell both collected points in the Women 100 Yard Butterfly. Johnson had a time of 1:01.96, while Buswell finished in 58.95 seconds.
Day 3
Men's: Alexander Sadowski placed 7th in the Men 200 Yard Backstroke with a finishing time of 1:52.66. Nolan Wallace collected points in the Men 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:09.00. Eddie Myers recorded a top ten finish in the Men 200 Yard butterfly with a finals time of 1:56.71.
Women's: Anna Mueller recorded a top ten finish in the Women 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 18:23.23. Remi Bokos also finished in the top ten for the Women 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:06.50. Genevieve Biberdorf placed 7th in the Women 200 Yard Breaststroke with a finals time of 2:23.12.
At the conclusion of the three-day invitational, the men's team placed 5th with a score of 201. The women's team placed 5th with a score of 216.
Panthers will be back in action December 6th at home against Indianapolis for Senior Day!
