GAME 4
Eastern Illinois travels to East Lansing, Michigan on Thursday evening as the Panthers take on the 24th ranked Michigan State Spartans. This will be the second of two games this season against Big Ten opponents with EIU losing in early November at Purdue. EIU lost its lone game last week at Indiana State falling to 0-3 on the year.  Michigan State improved to 4-0 on the season over the weekend with the Spartans holding a plus 54 scoring margin this season.  Following the game at Michigan State, EIU will remain in the area traveling to Mount Pleasant to play a Saturday afternoon game at Central Michigan.
STOLLER REMAINS CONSISTENT
Junior guard
Ava Stoller was back to the number 13 in the Panthers game at Indiana State. Stoller scored 13 points in both of EIU's exhibition games with Illinois Wesleyan and UIC and then posted 13 points in the regular season opener with Drake. She broke that streak at Purdue with a career high 25 points. At Indiana State she reverted to the number 13 leading EIU with 13 points. On the season she is averaging 17.0 points per game to rank third in the OVC while her 94.7 percent clip at the free throw line (18-of-19) ranks first in the league.Â
DESROCHES SPARK OFF THE BENCH
Sydney-James Desroches has played in two games this season coming back from an injury in the early fall. At Indiana State she played 23 minutes scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor with five rebounds and three blocks. Last season Desroches started 28 games with an average of 6.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. She closed the 2024-25 season with back-to-back double figure scoring games including a career high 18 points in the OVC Tournament against Western Illinois.
