GAME 11
Eastern Illinois hits the road one more time for the Panthers final non-conference game of the season. EIU returned home on Thursday night against North Dakota State after being on the NCAA's longest extended road trip this year at 38 days between home games. EIU lost that contest at home falling to 1-9 on the season. The Panthers open Ohio Valley Conference play at home next week with a pair of games before the Holiday Break. Butler has already opened Big East play and the Bulldogs enter the game at 5-6 overall after a midweek win over Indiana State.
GLAD WITH A CAREER HIGH
Clara Glad opened the season with an 11 point game against Drake and added a 12 point contest two games later against Indiana State. Both scoring totals fell short of her career high of 13 points set while playing two seasons at UC Davis. On Thursday against North Dakota State she posted a new career best finishing with 16 points bolstered by a 7-for-7 day at the free throw line. Glad knocked down 1-of-2 from 3-point range and has made at least one 3-pointer in four straight games. In addition Glad has contributed with her defense picking up at least one steal in nine of ten games to lead EIU with 12 steals this season.
STOLLER CONTINUES TO PRODUCE OFFENSE
Junior guard
Ava Stoller helped carry the Panthers offense in the early portion of Thursday's game with North Dakota State knocking down a pair of first quarter 3-pointers. Stoller finished with ten points for her seventh double figure scoring game this season. Stoller leads the Panthers in scoring this year at 12.9 points per game with a 25 point night at Purdue and 21 points in the road win at Bellarmine. She has scored from all three levels with a team best 11 made 3-pointers and team high 34 made free throws.
BOUTILIER WITH THE BLOCKS
Abbie Boutilier continues to be a defensive presence for the Panthers near the rim. The 6'10" transfer from Texas swatted away three shots against North Dakota State giving her four straight games with multiple blocks. Boutilier leads the OVC with 20 blocked shots this season. The EIU single season record is 61 set by Rachel Galligan in 2006. Boutilier has blocks in eight of the Panthers ten games this year with a high of four in the season opener against Drake. She added six points and seven rebounds against NDSU and has two ten rebound games this year against Purdue and Illinois State.
