The Eastern Illinois Panthers celebrated six seniors for their contributions to the program. EIU faced UIndy in a dual meet, in which the women's side lost 193-62, and the men's side dropped the meet 176-86. EIU will have to wait until the calendar flips for their next meet, which is January 17th against Evansville.
Men's Swimming:
On the men's side, there were multiple first-place finishes. For starters, the Men 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Alexander Sadowski, Nolan Wallace, Canyon Bain, and Luke Helm were just shy of beating the program record. They finished the race with a final time of 1:30.82, while the program record is 1:30.24. Zachary Clark won gold in the Men 200 Yard Freestyle with a winning time of 1:44.45. Clark broke the school record in the Men 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 44.31. Alexander Sadowski recorded a top five fastest time in EIU history. Sadowski earned gold in the Men 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 49.72, which ranks 4th all-time in program history.
Women's Swimming:
Jenna Patridge earned a second-place finish in the Women 100 Yard Backstroke with a final time of 59.73. Genevieve Biberdorf won gold in the Women 200 Yard Breaststroke with a final time of 2:20.78, which ranks second all-time in EIU history. Biberdorf also placed second in the Women 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:14.12. Anna Mueller and Remi Bokos placed second and third in the Women 500 Yard Freestyle. Mueller finished with a time of 5:32.48, while Bokos finished with a time of 5:41.26.
EIU will have to wait until the calendar flips to 2026 for their next competition, when they host Evansville on January 17th.
