EIU Women's Tennis Week Schedule

Eastern Illinois women's tennis opens Ohio Valley Conference play on Saturday as the Panthers travel to Nashville to face Tennessee State.

EIU was picked to finish sixth in the OVC preseason poll while the Lady Tigers of TSU were slated to finish seventh. All eight women's tennis teams will advance to the OVC Tournament in St. Louis on April 17-19.

Charleigh Fay was named the Panthers singles player to watch in the OVC this season. Fay is 3-8 on the season having picked up a two-set singles win over Minnesota State last Sunday. She is one of four EIU players currently tied with three wins.

In doubles play
Aleyla Wooten and
Michelle Kostadinova were named EIU's pair to watch in OVC play this season. They have been named OVC Doubles Team of the Week one time this spring and hold a 4-7 record overall at No. 1 doubles.

Wooten played at No. 1 doubles last week with Fay with the pair picking up one of two wins in doubles play against Minnesota State as the Panthers won the overall doubles point.Â
Luisa Renovales Salazar and Ornello Lomenzo won the other doubles point for EIU in the match at No. 2 doubles.
