Ornella Lomenzo has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Singles Player of the Week after posting a 3-0 record last week in singles play.
 
Lomenzo won all three of her contests at No. 2 doubles taking two of the three matches in three sets.  Her win against Lindenwood in three sets clinched the win for the Panthers.
 
Lomenzo won 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 over Lindenwood's Michelle Trochez.  She collected a 6-1, 5-7, 10-7 win over Chloe Routier of Western Illinois before capping her week with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Yontha Tadoum of Southeast Missouri.
 
The freshman from Brussels, Belgium is now 3-2 in OVC play this spring including a 6-12 overall record. 
 
EIU wraps up the regular season this Saturday hosting SIUE for Senior Day at 2 p.m.   The match will be played at Charleston High School following damage to EIU's Rex Darling Courts in last week's storms.
