Men's 200-Medley Record Highlights Day One

Panthers compete in day one Summit League Championships

Eastern Illinois swimming opened the 2026 Summit League Championships on Wednesday evening in Iowa City, Iowa with the men's 200 medley relay setting a school record.

The men's team placed fifth with the Panthers relay team featuring Alexander Sadowski, Nolan Wallace, Canyon Bain and Simonas Rimskis.  The group posted a record time of 1:29.17, topping the previous school record by one second (that record set at last year's Summit League Championship).

The women opened the meet with a time of 1:46.14 in the 200-medley relay to place seventh.  The relay team included Jenna Patridge, Genevieve Biberdorf, Sophia Buswell and Bella Earll. 

The women's 800 free relay also placed seventh with a time of 7:56.72.  The relay team featured Sydney Vandervelde, Remi Bokos, Kaitlyn Evans and Sophia Buswell.

The men's 800 free relay team finished seventh with a finals time of 6:51.97 to wrap up day one competition.  The relay consisted of Eddie Myers, Simonas Rimskis, Zach Clark and Luke Helm.

EIU resumes action with prelims on Thursday afternoon.
