TERRE HAUTE, Ind.. -- The Eastern Illinois men's and women's tennis squads fell to Eastern Kentucky in Ohio Valley Conference action on Saturday afternoon, as both Panther units dropped identical 7-0 matches to the Colonels.  Due to the recent cold, inclement weather, the home match was held at the indoor Wabash Valley Tennis Center in Terre Haute, Ind.

The two losses, drop the EIU men to 2-11 overall and 1-3 in early conference action.  The loss by the Eastern women, meanwhile, evens the Panther season to 5-5 and 1-2 in league play.

No Panther from either squad picked up a singles match, plus both EIU teams failed to earn the all-importat doubles point, although the men's duo of Warren Race/Kevin Bauman picked up a win at the No. 3 spot.

On Sunday, both Panther teams return to the court, hosting Morehead State.  The dual match will either be played at EIU's own Rex Darling Courts or moved indoors at the Danville Tennis Center if the cold, inclement weather continues.  Match time will be announced once the location is decided early Sunday morning.

Following this weekend action, both the men and women will travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to face Austin Peay on April 2, and each team will take another try at hosting Chicago State, with the Eastern women entertaining the Cougars on March 30 and the Panther men hosting CSU on April 4, after the originally scheduled dual meet was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
