CHARLESTON, Ill.. -- In home Ohio Valley Conference action, the Eastern Illinois men's and women's tennis squad each dropped respective 5-2 matches to visiting Morehead State on Sunday.

The losses move the men and women to 2-12 (1-4 OVC) and 5-6 (1-3 OVC) on the year, respectively.

The men were led by Michael Sperry and Matyas Hilgert, who picked up singles wins at the top two spots of the lineup.

Meanwhile, the duo of Warren Race/Kevin Bauman won at No. 3 doubles.

Unfortunately, Race and Bauman also lost three-set single matchups to their respective Morehead State (7-5/1-1) opponents.

For the women, Jennifer Kim and Shannon Brooks each earned straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, and then joined forces to gut out a win at No. 3 duos.

Meanwhile Janelle Prisner just barely fell at the top of the lineup in a three-set nail biter.

Both the EIU men and women will travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to face Austin Peay on April 2, and each team will take another try at hosting Chicago State, with the Eastern women entertaining the Cougars on March 30 and the Panther men hosting CSU on April 4, after the originally scheduled dual meet was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
