CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Eastern Illinois men's and women's tennis fell at Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay on Tuesday (March 27), by respective scores of 7-0 and 5-2.

The dual sweep to the Govs moves the Eastern men to 1-8/1-2 on the season, while the Panther women are now to 5-8/1-2.

The Panther women won the all-important doubles point as the teams of Janelle Prisner/Merritt Whitley and Sephora Boulbahaiem/Kristen Laird each downed their respective opponents at No. 1 and No. 3.

Unfortunately for EIU, Jennifer Kim would earn the lone singles victory for the women, downing her APSU foe at No. 5 singles in straight sets.

For the men, EIU were swept in both doubles and singles action, although Warren Race gave his opponent a nice three-set battle at the No. 2 spot and joined Kevin Bauman at second doubles spot where they fell by a close 8-6 score.

The Eastern men return to the court with a home contest versus Chicago State this coming Thursday (March 29).  First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Rex Darling Courts.
