CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois men's tennis is set to finish up the non-conference portion of the schedule as the Panthers travel to the windy city to face Chicago State on Tuesday (March 19). First serve is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start at the CSU tennis facility.
The Panthers will also look to snap a recent two-match losing streak as EIU sits at an even 3-3 mark on the season after recently falling on the road to both Southern Illinois and Bradley.
The Cougars of Chicago State, meanwhile, are just 1-14 on the season, with their lone win coming against Robert Morris.
Seniors
Michael Sperry and
Warren Race tie freshmen
Ryan Henderson and
Robert Skolik with even 3-3 marks in singles action. Sperry and Race have started at the top two spots in the EIU lineup all season, while Henderson and SKolik have split time between No. 3/4 and No. 5/6, respectively.
In Panther doubles, junior
Kevin Bauman and Skolik currently enjoy a team-best 3-2 record in duos, as the pair compete at the No. 2 spot.
The Panther men will next be in action on Thursday (March21), as they will join the EIU women for an Ohio Valley Conference dual meet at instate rival SIU Edwardsville at 2 p.m.
Both Eastern squads will then immediately prepare for their home openers versus league rivals Murray State (Sat., March 23) and Austin Peay (Sun., March 24) this coming weekend.
