JONESBORO, Ark. -- Senior James Jansen continued to lead the Eastern Illinois men's golf squad on Sunday (April 5), as the Panthers completed Arkansas State Red Wolves Intercollegiate action with a 20th place finish.

After tying for 20th following two rounds of play on Saturday, Jansen unfortunately finished with a nine-over-par 81 in the final round to complete the Par 72, 6,565-yard Ridgepoint Country Club course with a 52nd place tie, out of 112 competitors.

Team-wise, EIU out-paced Meridian CC in last place, as the Panthers had a combined 940 score.  Delta State earned the team title, while Andri Bjornsson of Nicholls State earned the individual trophy in a sudden death playoff, going three-over-par (212) for the event.

EIU classmate Oscar Borda (230) and sophomore Marcus Dahlin (239) finished with respective 58th and 97th place ties, while fellow sophomore Daniel Hughes and newcomer Nick Yuhas rounded out the EIU contingent in 104th and 109th places.

Panthers will next hit the links on April 19-21 as they travel to Cincinnati to participate in the Xavier Invitational.
