CHARLESTON, Ill. - The Eastern Illinois men's tennis team won their first match of the season in a dominant performance sweeping Saint Francis 7-0 Friday afternoon.

Today's win marks the Panthers ninth straight victory over Saint Francis, extending their series record to 18-4.

In the No. 4 position, Gage Kingsmith defeated Michael Hasler after forcing the only third set of the day to win 4-6, 6-4, 1-0. Marko Stefan Janjusic and Trent Reiman had dominating performances from the No. 5 and No. 6 positions against David Kohler and Fritz Ticala winning their matches 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.

Friday's match marked the first singles wins of the season for Kingsmith and Trent Reiman along with teammates Grant Reiman and Jared Woodson who picked up wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.

Now 1-4 on the season, the Panthers will try to gain their second win tomorrow at 4 p.m in Normal, Ill against Illinois State.
