ALLENDALE, Mich. – Eastern Illinois sent a small contingent of track and field athletes to the Grand Valley Big Meet on Saturday with the Panthers returning with four first place finishes during their second indoor meet of the year.
Ramsey Hunt was a multiple event winner as he won both the long jump and triple jump. Hunt won the long jump with a mark of 23'2 while capturing the triple jump with a mark of 45'1.75".
Adam Swanson not only won the men's mile but also landed on the Panthers career top ten list. Swanson won the event with a time of 4:06.49 which ranks sixth in school history. Teammate
Nick Oakley placed third with a time of 4:10.93.
Mackenzie Aldridge won the women's 3,000 meter run for EIU's final first place finish at the event. She posted a winning time of 10:26.01.Â
Riley Baker and
Tadiwa Mhonde finished second and third in the men's 400 meter run with times of 48.99 and 49.25.Â
Dustin Hatfield was third in the men's 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:24.60.
Senior
Makenna Wilson was in action for the Panthers on Saturday at the Iowa State meet competing in a talented field for the women's shot put. Wilson placed fourth in the event but broke her own school record in the event with a throw of 52'2.25".
EIU returns to action next weekend as the Panthers host the Friday Night Special at the Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse.
