Eastern Illinois track and field hosted its final indoor meet of the season as the Panthers posted five first place finishes at the EIU Friday Night Special at the Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse.

Makenna Wilson picked up the lone first place finish for EIU in field events as the senior won the women's shot put with a throw of 48'11.50. Last week Wilson competed at the Iowa State meet passing her own school record in the event.

Zakiya Johnson and
Akiya Kollore added first place finishes for the Panther women on the track. Johnson won the 400 meter run with a time of 58.91. Kollore won the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.06.    Johnson and Kollore would each add podium finishes in one additional event. Johnson was third in the 200 meter with a time of 25.80. Kollore placed second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.81.

Cameron Yarbrough picked up a win for the EIU men in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.49.  Two Panthers,
Jahleel Perrin and
Brailyn Johnson, tied for third in the race with time of 22.70. Johnson also placed third in the men's 60 meter dash with a time of 6.93.

EIU added three more top three finishes in the 400 meter and 600 meter men's races.Â
James Allen and
Luis Mayobre placed second and third in the 600 meter run. Allen posted a time of 1:27.95 with Mayobre in at 1:31.20.  Gregory Downs crossed in third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.85.Â
Richie Jacobo would snag a second place finish in the men's 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:38.71

Katie Springer and
Danielle Frank added to the EIU women's top three finish count. Springer was second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.79. Frank was third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.50.

In field events
Ramsey Hunt placed third in the men's long jump with a mark of 23'2.75".  At last week's Grand Valley State Big Meet, Hunt won both the long jump and triple jump.  Tynita Butts, who competes for PUMA, won the women's high jump setting a Lantz Fieldhouse record with a jump of 6'1.50".

The Panther men closed out the night winning the 4x400 relay.
