AUSTIN / SAN MARCOS, Texas – Eastern Illinois wrapped up competition on Saturday competing at both the Texas Relays and Texas State Invite adding three first place finishes to a successful weekend.

Adam Swanson continued his standout season as he won the 800 meter run at the Texas Relays with a time of 1:47.66 which ranks second all-time on the EIU career list. Only Jim Maton (1:46.90) has ever posted a faster time in EIU history. Teammate
Nick Oakley was 16th in the event with a time of 1:51.77.

The EIU men's 4x100 relay team placed seventh in the finals on Saturday with a time of 41.11. The relay team consisted of
Brailyn Johnson,
Shandall Thomas,
Cameron Yarbrough and
Ricky Johnson.

Joe Smith wrapped up the competitors at the Texas Relays placing 11th in the Triple Jump (B) competition with a jump of 48'3.50".Â

It was the second triple jump event of the day for Smith as he picked up a first place finish in the triple jump at the Texas State Invite earlier in the day, winning with a jump of 47'2.50".

Steven Rowe had the final first place finish of the day for the Panthers winning the men's high jump at Texas State clearing a height of 6'9". Â
Nick Phillips and
Jekeel Suber added top five finishes at Texas State. Phillips was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 53'0.25". Suber was fifth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.77.

Akiya Kollore had a solid day leading the EIU women with a pair of top five finishes at Texas State. She was second in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.34 which was seventh best in school history. Kollore was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.33. Teammate
Shanisa Stinson was fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.42.
