MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. -- Eastern Illinois men's golf completed second day action at the year-ending Ohio Valley Conference Championship meet on Saturday (April 25), as Marcus Dahlin continued to lead all Panthers at the Par 72, 7,258-yard Fightin Joe course at The Shoals in Alabama.
The sophomore added one additional stroke mark on day two to finish with a three-over 75 to now sport a 149 total and tie for 28th place out of 55 competitors. Â He previously tied for 18th place after Friday's opening round.
Seniors Brady Welsh and Oscar Borda switched places in the standings as the duo sit now tie for 44th (154) and rank 48th (157), respectively.
Sophomore Daniel Hughes (T52nd/160) and senior James Jansen (54th/163) continued to round out the Panther contingent.
For the day, three Panthers -- Welsh (-8), Hughes (-6) and Jansen (-5) -- all made nice improvements from their opening round play.
Team-wise, Eastern Kentucky jumped five spots to take over first place in the standings off a 575 two-day total, while previous leader Belmont dropped to 6th place. Â The Panthers fired a combined 304 score, slicing off 11 strokes from their Friday total, yet still sit in last place in the standings.
UTM's Caballero and JSU's Anderson currently tie for individual honors off six-under-par 138 scores.
