Eastern Illinois men's track won the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track Championship as the Panthers made it back-to-back titles after winning in 2019 and having the 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
The EIU women placed fourth as Southeast Missouri was the women's OVC Outdoor Champion. SEMO scored 148 points followed by Belmont (133), Murray State (131) and Eastern Illinois (114.5).

On the men's side EIU won its 18th OVC Outdoor Track & Field Championship scoring 197.5 points. SEMO was second with 172 followed by Belmont (138) and Tennessee State (94).
Adam Swanson was named the OVC Male Track Athlete of the Year and OVC Male Freshman of the Year.Â
Makenna Wilson was named the OVC Female Athlete of the Championship.Â
Brenton Emanuel was named the OVC Men's Track Coach of the Year.

EIU won 18 medals on the final day of the championships with six gold medals, one school record and four other EIU career top ten marks.

Gold medals came to open and close the day for the EIU men's relay teams as they won the 4x100 relay with a time of 40.97 and closed with a win in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:14.66.

Wilson had a gold medal performance in the women's shot put with her throw of 50'3.25" ranking as the second best mark in school history.

Swanson won the men's 800 meter run with a time of 1:51.75 while placing second in the men's 1,500 meter run with a time of 3:48.51.

Riley Baker won the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 51.87 as his time ranks as the seventh best mark in school history.

Jekeel Suber was a repeat champion in the men's 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.47. Suber was the event champion in 2019 as well, the last time the OVC contested its outdoor championship. He would win silver in the 400 hurdles with a time of 53.08.

Akiya Kollore and
Shanisa Stinson would place second and third in the women's 100 hurdles with both placing times in the EIU career top ten. Kollore had a time of 13.90 which is fourth all-time at EIU while Stinson ran a 13.99 for the eighth best time in school history.

Kollore would also run the anchor leg the women's 4x100 relay team that earned a silver medal with a school record time of 45.37.

Joe Smith and
Nick Phillips added bronze medal performances for EIU in field events. Smith was third in the men's triple jump with a mark of 48'9". Phillips was third in the shot put with a throw of 53'5".

Tadiwa Mhonde,
Ricky Johnson and
Payton Powell won medals for the Panther men in short sprints.Â
Brailyn Johnson was second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.66. Mhonde, the defending OVC champion in the 100 meter and 200 meter ran the 400 meter event in this meet winning bronze with a time of 48.09.Â
Ricky Johnson and Powell were second and third in the 200 meter dash with times of 21.46 and 21.66.

Kate Bushue won the final individual medal of the day for EIU with a bronze in the women's 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:23.34.Â
