TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Eastern Illinois tennis squads finished up a weekend home slate with another Ohio Valley Conference split versus Austin Peay on Sunday afternoon, as the Panther women hit past the Lady Govs, 4-2, while the EIU men were swept, 4-0.

The action was moved indoors to the nearby Wabash Valley Tennis Club in Terre Haute, Ind., due to the recent inclement weather, which necessitated a shortened contest with no doubles being played.

The win improves the Eastern ladies 7-3 overall and up their league mark to 2-1.  The Panther men, meanwhile, fall to 5-4 and an even 1-1 record in OVC action.

Janelle Prisner, Merritt Whitley and Kristen Laird all won relatively easily two-set victories at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles

Ali Foster held on for a three-set victory at her No. 5 matchup, with Sephora Boulbahaiem dropping her own three-set affair as she was unable to hold onto a first set win.

The EIU gents were swept in consecutive sets through the top four individual matchups for the margin of loss to the Govs.

Both Panther units return to the court next weekend, traveling to Belmont and Tennessee State for respective duals on Saturday (March 30) and Sunday (March 31).
