BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's tennis earned their third consecutive split in Ohio Valley Conference action, as the Panther ladies earned a 4-0 victory at Belmont, while the EIU men fell by the same score to the Bruins.

No doubles action took place as the action was moved indoors at the Maryland Farms Club.

The EIU women improve to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in league action, while the loss for the guys drops the Panthers toan even 5-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Janelle Prisner, Merritt Whitley, Sephora Boulbahaiem, and Jennifer Kim all picked up wins at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5 spots in the lineup.

Boulbahaiem and Kim both hit past their Bruin opponent in straight sets, while Prisner and Whitley clawed past their respective competition in three sets.

Both Panther units continue the Nashville road swing in league play, with the women set to face Tennessee State at 11 a.m.

The EIU men, meanwhile, will also face TSU at 11 a.m., but have added a second match with the Tigers, as TSU needed to add a match to NCAA certified spring schedule.  Only the second contest between EIU and TSU will count toward the OVC standings, however.
