Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country return to action this Friday at the Bradley "Pink" Classic contested at Newman Golf Course in Peoria.
 
The EIU men will run in the Red Race at 3 pm at the 8K distance with the women's Red Race to follow at 3:45 pm at the 6K distance.
 
EIU has been led this season on the women's side by Brenda Torres who has twice this season been named the OVC Runner of the Week.  Torres has been joined consistently in the top four for EIU this season by Mackenzie Aldridge, Kylie Haacke and Rylea Borgic.  EIU has had a different fifth scored runner in each of the three opening races with Kathryn Cichon, Macie Russell and Sophie Krueger all landing in that spot.
 
On the men's side Joe Stoddard and Richie Jacobo have paced the Panthers with each winning OVC Runner of the Week over the last two EIU competitions.  Michael Atkins has been EIU's third scored runner in all three meets this season with Cale Smith placing as the fourth scored runner in the last two events.  Ethan Black and Sam Nowak have filled that fifth position in each of the last two races at the 8K distance.  In the shortened season opening EIU Walt Crawford, Mario Torres and Black placed fourth and fifth.
 
The field for the Bradley "Pink" Classic is larger than past years as the site will host the NCAA Midwest Regional is just over a month on Friday, November 15.
